Ping18
when the circus left town
Victoria Sponge remained
gave away her magic
for swapped glimpses
of notionless love
the dealt cards said a year
would mend the groundswell
of a plundered heart
so the lads stayed too
& lingered freed signage
do you remember the garden
at the Mutt & Croc?
where I palmed Eve’s pud
& made the first apple crumble?
